Today my oldest brother, Jimmy, (also known as Bubba, Booger, Boo, Jim, Old Man, etc) turns 63!! He is WAAAYYYYY older than me!! He and his wife, Connie, are both recent retirees and are truly enjoying the "Good Life"! I'm so happy for them and just a tad bit jealous! Here's a little "ditty" that I wrote just for him on his special day!!!

Today I turn 63
And yet I stop and wonder
Are my best days behind me?
What happened to all my thunder!!??
Oh to be young again
With lots of energy and vim
It was always so hard
To keep up with Jim!
To jump out of bed
With plans galore
It was never said
“Oh he is such a bore!”
Not all the gray hair
Always fighting weight
Free to do it all
With the kids and the mate!
But what would I do
Without my afternoon treat?
My special coffee time
With my wifey next to me!
There would be no time
For my plants and more
That I’ve enjoyed in my prime!
Yep, today I’ll just enjoy
The love of my life
Driving down the road
With just my trailer and my wife!
I'm sure I will be the ONLY one of your faithful reader who knows Jimmy by all of those infamous names!! He and Connie are two of my very favorite people. Always the same, today or 30 years ago...sweet Jesus loving folks!! Happy Birthday Jimmy! I'd love to look as good as you do when I'm 63, But like Julie, it's sooooooo far in the future, I just can't imagine being that old!!!! ha!

So good to meet you! I love your blog. Ashely looks great in the family picture. And for the record... please forgive me if my children were being disruptive at Old Navy. It's like hearding cats when I take them shopping. I would have loved for you to say hi. Glad you enjoyed our restaurant.
